Johannes Kilian

Johannes Kilian was born in Germany. He received his first drum lessons at the age of six. He has been studying at the University of Music Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden since 2017 and is being taught by Prof. Dominic Oelze (until the 5th semester), Prof. Hendrik Gläßer and Prof. Lukas Böhm. At the same time he takes private lessons with Prof. Benjamin Forster (solo timpanist of the Berliner Philharmoniker).

In addition to his experience in the University Orchestra and his place as a substitute at the Staatsoperette Dresden, Johannes was able to gain practical experience in various orchestras and chamber music ensembles, so he played as temporary assistant at the Philharmonic Orchestra Theater Altenburg Gera, the Seachsische Staatskapelle Dresden and the Dresdner Philharmonie.

Johannes participated in masterclasses with Martin Grubinger, Benjamin Schmidinger (Vienna Philharmonic) and Prof. Franz Schindelbeck (Berliner Philharmoniker).

Since September 2019 he is a sholarship holder of the Dual Orchestra Academy Thuringia.
