Barnabás Fekete
Barnabás Fekete was born in Kerepestarcsa (Hungary). At the age of eight, Barnabás was teached in jazz drums. At eighteen, he switched to classical percussion. In 2014 he took his bachelor's degree with István Szabó from the University of Debrecen. An Erasmus exchange year took him to Germany to the University of Music FRANZ LIZST in Weimar, where he was taught by Prof. Markus Leoson, Alejandro Coello Calvo and Timo Schmeichel. In 2017 he took up his master's degree at the University of Debrecen and later moved back to Weimar to Markus Leoson. He is currently completing his concert exam in Weimar,too.
In addition to his studies, he gained orchestral experience in various university orchestras, and orchestras such as the Kodály Philharmonic of Debrecen, the Erfurt Theater, the Szolnok Symphony Orchestra and the Jena Philharmonic.
He attended masterclasses with Bence Major, Lorenzo Ferrandiz Carillo, Matthew Coley and others.Barnabás is the 1st winner of the National Percussion Competition of Hungary and twice won the Hungarian national Percussion competition 3rd place.
Since September 2019 he is a scholarship holder of the Dual Orchestra Academy Thuringia.
