The Dual Orchestra Academy in Thuringia offers young musicians a broad range of training opportunities as part of a scholarship. It is a cooperation project of the Jenaer Philharmonie and the Theater Altenburg Gera. All scholarship recipients have the opportunity to optimally prepare for the profession of a professional orchestral musician by integrating them into both the concert and musical theater operations of the two orchestras. This allows them to get to know two career branches in practice - a unique feature of the Academy.

Admission to the Orchestra Academy includes participation in the regular rehearsals, concerts and performances. The scholarship holders are personally and intensively supervised by mentors from the orchestras. Furthermore, the scholarship is complemented by a variety of training modules, from repertoire studies, chamber music, audition training, coaching and music education. The Dual Orchestra Academy Thuringia works together with various renowned lecturers and artists in order to comprehensively prepare the scholarship holders for the constantly increasing demands of an orchestra musician.
